My grandfather was a judge. He taught me early on that law and justice are not always the same thing\u2014and that it\u2019s important to grapple with this tension.  <\/p>\n<p>My legal education took me to Saarbr\u00fccken, Hamburg, and New York. I have been practicing law since 2004. <\/p>\n<p>Litigation has appealed to me from the very beginning. It requires a willingness to engage in open debate: to withstand opposition, to challenge others\u2019 views, and to stand up for one\u2019s own position\u2014even when a court has already ruled otherwise. This includes being able to cope with the uncertainty of the outcome.  <\/p>\n<p>My professional career began at major commercial law firms. At Heuking in Hamburg and CMS in Munich, I worked on complex commercial litigation cases. Later, I took over as head of litigation at PwC Legal in Hamburg. This was followed by several more years in leadership roles and as a partner at commercial law firms.   <\/p>\n<p>That time shaped who I am today. I got to know different law firm cultures and saw what large law firms are capable of. But I also learned which work styles suit me\u2014and which don\u2019t.  <\/p>\n<p>With LEGAL+, I finally acted on that realization. I wanted to combine my experience from large law firms with a different approach to legal practice: one that is personal, direct, and free from the organizational structures that often come between attorneys and clients in larger firms. <\/p>\n<p>I have always remained true to my area of expertise: litigation.
